Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can you give us a ride?

We wish we could! But this service is only for your precious luggage!

Taxis, Ubers, and Nantucket's Bus System (FREE FOR 2025!) are available across the island. Our service is to bridge the gap between your Check In and Check Out time and allows you the freedom to explore luggage free!

2. I forgot something in my bag. Do I have access to my luggage between pick up and drop off?

We recommend you triple check that you have everything you need for your luggage free day! We will be transferring luggage all around the island and your bag will be along for the ride! If it is an emergency like medication, try calling us and we will do our best.

3. I got to check in early! Can you come sooner?

Arrival Service Drop Off is between 3pm and 5pm.

Based on availability, we might be able to accommodate your preferred time that you specify in your order form.

4. How do I find you at the ferry or airport?

Whether it's a ferry terminal or the airport, we will try our very best to meet you curbside.

(All Pick Up Locations and Directions are confirmed the day prior via text)

Typical Meeting Points 

 

FERRY TERMINAL (HYLINE OR FREEDOM): Either at the Drop off Stand right past the luggage carts and across from the Tavern or Directly Outside Stop and Shop's Doors

FERRY TERMINAL (STEAMSHIP OR SEASTREAK): Our Van will be parked waiting in front of, or close by to the Luggage Carts for the fast ferry

AIRPORT: The day prior, you will be sent directions with clear photos of where to stand with your luggage for pick up and drop offs.

In the event that traffic is built up around the ferry terminals, we may need you to walk a short distance to meet our van or wait a few extra minutes. Traffic usually subsides about 20 minutes after a ferry arrival.

5. What if my transportation is late arriving or departing?

We understand that sometimes ferries and planes get off schedule. When you order a transfer, you provide your flight number, or ferry's arrival time/terminal. We will do our best to track it and accommodate you the best that we can. You may need to wait for a new time slot. We do have other guests and transfers booked, so it will be dependent on availability on the day of. Keep your phone handy!
 

6. I decided to take a different ferry or airplane the same day.

Can I change my time?
A Same Day Change fee ($25) will apply if you personally want to change your pick up or drop off time on the day of and is based on availability. Sorry, No Refund if you change your ferry or plane on the same day and we cannot accommodate.

7. I'm running late! What is your Late Policy?

In the Flight Attendant world, there's a phrase: "ON TIME is LATE!"

Give yourself extra time! But we understand things happen. We have a late policy in place for when things happen. You can read it HERE, along with our other policies.

 

8. What happens if I leave Nantucket without my luggage?
We have a $200 Shipping Fee, PLUS any standard shipping charges in the event your luggage is not transferred due to your tardiness. You can review all policies and fees HERE.

*If in the rare event we may not be able to fulfill our promise due to traffic or our mistake, we will ship overnight your luggage along with a full refund. But don't worry! We do not overbook for this reason!

​7. Where is my luggage stored during the day?

The Luggage Trolley is a fully mobile concept. Therefore, your luggage will be riding around town with us! Think of it as amazon or uber for your luggage! Rest assured, our van is secured and locked at all times and within short walking distance of our crew members, should we have to step away momentarily.

Currently, we do not have a store front.

 

8. Does The Luggage Trolley carry insurance?

Yes, we have an insurance policy in place, but we would rather not use it! We require for our clients to keep anything of significant value in your own possession. The Luggage Trolley will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of your belongings. Please, no expensive electronics, family heirlooms, expensive wedding dresses, etc.

​9. I'm a solo traveler. Do you have any deals for one person?

Yes! Having solo traveled for years on our own, we know the struggle of group pricing.
